Save Energy
Without Turning Off Your Air Conditioner

The use of an air conditioner is necessary, especially on those hot summer days when it is 90 degrees outside. Cranking up the air conditioner usually makes us think about extremely high electricity bills but this does not have to be your case. Pay close attention to the following tips and learn what you need to do to save money on electricity bills, while the AC is still on.

You can save energy without turning off your AC unit by doing these simple but effective tricks:

  • Increase your AC’s temperature a few degrees while it is on- Though we understand that you may love to fall asleep, relax, or watch a film in 60 degree weather, we hate to be the bearer of bad news. The lower you go on the AC temperature, the more energy that it will consume. Try boosting the temperature up a notch and see if you like it.

  • Clean the filters in your air conditioner- When the filters are covered in dust and debris your AC will not function or operate properly thus it will require twice the effort and energy to cool the room. Make sure you clean the filters

  • Close and properly seal all doors and windows- a tiny crack on your doors or windows can cause for the entire room to not cool, whether you believe it or not. You do not have to spend a lot of money, just look into purchasing some draft stoppers at your local store or online.

  • Turn the oven off- whenever you turn on the oven, you make the heat counteract the cool air. Give your electric bill a chance and try no cook meals for a while.

So, there you have it. Those are the small yet effective ways to go about saving energy while the AC is still running.
